Taking over an old medical hall, the cafe is located just down the road from Sarnies. There was a crowd when we reached, but we didn't have to wait long for seats for three. I couldn't really pinpoint the vibe the cafe was going for, it was a mix of vintage, old-school and perhaps a little quirky with high tools and tables made out of bright red pipes.
I liked that the cafe was fitted with a row of fans and the place was airy and cooling. Granted that it was really warm today, but it was refreshing to not be in an airconditioned room. Notice that the tables used were the familiar desks we used in school?
Service was prompt and efficient, and most of the friendly staff were caucasian. Between the three of us, we ordered the smoked salmon and avocado salad, the duck rilette sandwich and a quarter quiche which comes with salad. We also ordered two iced lattes and an iced mocha, and the total bill came up to $54, which worked out to about $18 each.
My favourite was the salad - it came with a generous serving of smoked salmon and i love avocado so score! The greens were also very delicious. The duck rillette sandwich was a little tough to chew in my opinion, and perhaps not the best item for sharing. We eventually requested for it to be sliced into three so it was easier for us to share. The quiche was also not bad, but a little too salty for my taste.
I was a little disappointed that they didn't really have mains like pasta on the menu, it felt more like a salad place. But no doubt the food was good, and I'll be back to try their breakfast and dessert, sometime during the weekend!

You will be excited to know that they have introduced hot main courses like lasagna, green curry chicken...this place is so happy and packed.
