Potato Head Folk

The last time I was in Bali was five years ago and all I wanted to do was surf all day and laze on the beach. It's been awhile since I've been to Bali, and friends tell me that Potato Head is one of the must go places for a chill out time.

Potato Head Folk just opened in the hipster enclave of Ann Siang, and the dining experience made me more inclined to book my next holiday to Bali.

The waiting time to get a seat in the restaurant at Level Two was an hour, so we had our dinner on the first floor. It was like a burger joint experience, and you'll get to see the chef prepare your burger if you're seated at the bar counters.

For our mains, we opted for the Baby Huey ($20) which came with Prime 150g beef patty, cheese, lettuce, ketchup, pickles and spiced mayo and a side order of chicken wings to share. The Sherbie Hancock, a citrus sherbet lemonade drink, was our beverage of choice.

Menu from Three Buns.

We couldn't make up our minds on whether we wanted the rich chocolate pot heads, or the zesty lemon pot heads so we got both. I'm typically not a chocolate person, but it was just so smooth, sort of like chocolate tau-huey (what an auntie description but yes, it was just like that). I preferred the zesty lemon flavour better as it was tangy and refreshing.

This is the restaurant on Level Two, with the layout depicting a living room. Love the vibe, the eclectic art, hanging decorations and the wait staff in hawaiian print tops.

The Citrus Crush - Gin with lemon, lime, grapefruit and citrus sherbet.

Unknown to me, level three features a by reservation only drinking bar called Studio 1939 and a roof top bar! I'll be back to check them out.
